Ballet: Primary Division

Designed with the Young Dancer in Mind

Creative Movement Younger children explore dance through games, story-telling, and props.  Children (ages 3-5) will develop poise and musicality in a fun and creative environment. Scarves, bean bags, hula hoops, and fans are used to enhance the child’s exploration of shape, level, and the dynamics of movement.

NOTE: These students DO NOT participate in the Spring Recital, instead a showcase, in costume, for family and friends in the Uptown Theatre in the First Street Community Center.

Pre-Ballet/Pre-Tap Introduces basic dance positions and movement skills. The main goal of the program is to help the young student enjoy the process of learning dance by keeping it fun and encouraging. Students age 5 and up may also explore introductory level Ballet class. This combination Pre-Ballet/Pre-Tap class encourages students to learn basic Tap and Ballet to fun age-appropriate music. Pre -Ballet/Pre-Tap ages 5-6. These students will participate in recital.
