Groundwork for all Future Dance Training
The STUDENT DIVISION (ages 6 and up) begins with lower level classes taught slowly and carefully in order to emphasize proper posture and placement.
Ballet I & II begins with center barre work and then to center floor with technique appropriate for the age and skill level.
Ballet III works on coordination of the full body in turns, jumps, and leaps.
Ballet IV includes more difficult technique and pre-pointe and pointe work if the dancers have completed the Pointe class and are determined ready by the teacher.
Ballet IV is one 3-hour class but it is divided into two (1.5 hour) sessions – Monday and Tuesday. The two session are taught by Miss Alison on Monday and Miss Diedrich on Tuesday. This provides the students the opportunity to learn from different teachers and perform in two Ballet IV pieces for the Spring Recital.
NOTE: The DAI Ballet Teachers determine if a Ballet student is eligible to transfer to Ballet II, Ballet III, Ballet IV and Pointe
