Jazz/Modern

These are being offered as a combined class and will focus alternately on skills from each discipline. Jazz emphasizes musicality and energy with an approach evolving from the jazz age of the 1920's to current dance trends. Modern uses a free and expressive style to expand the dancer's movement vocabulary, incorporating improvisational techniques. Contemporary, world music and show tunes are used. It is recommended that dancers also attend a ballet class. We recommend that dancers also take a ballet or Cecchetti class.
